Barbara M. (Miksich) Skubisz

Barbara M. Skubisz, age 91, of East Main Street, Skyesville, PA, died at home on Thursday, February 26, 2026. A daughter of the late Steven Thomas and Anna (Susa) Miksich, she was born on June 18, 1934 in Sykesville (Cascade), PA.  On September 15, 1956 she married Joseph F. Skubisz, who predeceased her in 2006.

Barb is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Cathi) Skubisz, Dennis Skubisz and Donald Skubisz; three grandchildren, Andy Skubisz, Jake Skubisz and Matthew (Becca) Campbel; and two great-grandchildren, Clara and Hudson Campbell.

Along with her parents and her husband, Barb was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Petty and a brother, Steven Miksich, leaving her as the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Barb graduated Sykesville High School and was a member of the ABVM Church of the Holy Spirit Parish.  She worked at Cameron in Reynoldsville, Rockwell, and retired from Brockway Glass Plant #2, as a Packer, in 1991.  She enjoyed Polka dancing, Polka music with Big Moose and Polka Mike, crocheting, Bingo, Church trips, ABVM Rosary Society, sending and receiving Greeting Cards, cooking, baking, word puzzles, sitting on the porch, visiting with friends and family, attending church with family, hair done on Friday’s, shopping, eating out and her occasional scratch off’s.  She was a lifelong member of the Croatian Fraternal Union.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. and also on Tuesday, from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the ABVM Church of Sykesville, with Father John Malthaner.

Interment will take place in the Assumption Cemetery of Sykesville.
